Connected with the ability to be optimistic, there is a story about Nagatomo Yuto, Japanese soccer player .
Nagatomo Yuto is the one of the biggest successful Japanese soccer player, and now he plays for Inter Milan at Italy. However, When he was student, he never considered to be professional player by his coaches and he had been injured after entering Meiji university. He spent almost college life to get re-habitation.
I can say that ''Nagatomo was at the atmosphere of the doom.'' but he never gave up soccer. He thought of what skills that he has are better than others and what skills are lacking. He understood reality calmly, but not became pessimistic.
His solution is to take advantage of his strong point and minimize his weak points. His strong point are limitless stamina and sprint. His weak one is injure and his height. To take advantage, he did muscle training to strengthen the core of the body. The effect of the training spread to so many skill. He could refrain from being injured and he got strong body.
Now, I am in similar situation like Nagatomo's. I can learn a solution from him
Only ignoring the reality is not reality option. As Nagatomo did, I need to understand the reality and be optimistic.
Hi Andy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting your research proposal, and for this fine post. I really like what you said about Nagatomo, that "His solution is to take advantage of his strong point and minimize his weak points." This is important to all of us. Find our strengths and minimize the weaknesses.
